people. i have a record of doing that as the governor of the state of texas. we treated over 1 million jobs as america lost over 2 million jobs. i want to talk about one other issue. the congressman spoke about this, i can diagram the problems we have in america today. the direct line between washington dc and wall street. the idea of the troubled asset relief program, $7.70 trillion we did not know is being put into these banks. this is what america is upset about. it will take an outsider to put our and the model of taxes and regulation, to balance the budget with 18% of gdp. an outsider like rick perry is going to do this. >> michelle bodman? >> one of our former competitors reminded us of 9 9 9. i'd like the win, win, win plan. i am of former federal tax lawyer. we will create millions of dollars if we abolish the tax code. there is the pro-growth policy, not just by lowering the rates of businesses but individuals as well. making this apply the same to all americans. something else i want to do with my tax code policy is make certain that everyone pays something. 40% pay nothing i
would suggest that's even stronger than a handshake in texas. >> do you think a candidate with breaks his marital vows is more likely to break faith with the voters? >> i think the voters are wise enough to figure that one out. i've always been of the opinion that if you cheat on your wife, you'll cheat on your business partner. so i think that issue of fidelity is important. it's a characteristic of which people look at individuals, whether it's in their business lives or personal lives or whether it's picking someone to serve in public office for them. individuals who have been in fidelity with their spouse, i think that sends a powerful message. if you will cheat on your wife or your spouse why wouldn't you cheat on your business partner or why wouldn't you cheat on anybody. >> senator santorum, you were on "this week" last sunday and you summed up your position as character counts. is this your position as well? >> character issues do count. all of your record, personal as well as political record, is there for the public to look at esm i would not say it's a disqualifier, i would
